I ordered porter a superhero costume and it came this weekend while we were at the beach. He put it on immediately and hasn't taken it off yet.

7 months old!!!

Stella was 7 months old on Thursday. Cool hairstyle isn't it???

Her two cow licks converge right at that spot on her head and it stands up alfalfa style. Bless her.
She is thinking she might be ready to crawl.

Today she is with Nannie and Pappie while I work the ER. Watching TV in bed. She's getting her judge Judy fix.

Stella has a tooth!!

But it's on serious lockdown.  She won't show it or let you feel it.  I guess she's afraid somebody is going to try to take it from her and she thinks she worked pretty hard for that thing over the last few weeks.
We celebrated by trying baby yogurt in place of her normal oatmeal and fruit.  She didn't like it.
Here are the p-pots in the playpen.  Porter gets in and plays with her all the time.
We had a few peaceful minutes recently.  That always deserves a picture commemorating the event.

Quote of the day

Right before porter goes to sleep tonight he says, "mama, I'm your p-pot, but I'm daddy's best friend."

Last early

Last early in porter world refers to anything that has happened in the past. It may have actually been last night, yesterday, last time, last week, etc. It's all last early. Time is one concept we have not mastered yet. Right now he is also into asking for "5 more minutes" or some other number, but he has no concept of how long it may be. We just say the time is up whenever we are ready to move along to whatever we were timing. For example, at bath time he says, "I want to play in the tub for 5 more minutes" and that 5 minutes is always up exactly when I finish getting Stella out and dressed.
So, here are some pictures from bathtime last early. :)

On a completely different note, as I am typing this porter is sitting in my lap. He just pulled his shorts down in the front and I asked what he was doing. He said, "I'm just lettin' air in." Why?!?! He says, "I'm lettin' the old air our and some new air in." Proof that he belongs to his daddy. O. M. G.
Last early (this morning)...

We are still a little behind on shots due to RSV, but next checkup is on time!!!
Stella is still crazy tall at 28" (>95%), 15lb 13oz (50%), and sweet as sugar. She got 3 shots and oral vaccine and was a champ.

One month

One month from today we leave Andalusia headed for Fort Worth, Texas, to move Jared into his apartment on the TCU campus to begin his fall semester of anesthesia school. Until now he has been taking online classes for his doctorate work. In the fall he will be doing masters classes and one doctorate class per semester. We have no idea if he will be able to move closer after the first semester or after the first year.
One month from yesterday I will be in Montgomery taking the written "qualifying" exam for general surgery board certification. This is why I have slacked on blogging so much lately. Every spare minute I have is spend studying.
Must persevere for one more month on this, but then I will be stepping it into high gear because Jared will be gone and it will be just me with both kids for about 2 1/2 years. Even if Jared gets to move closer for part of his didactic work and clinicals, it will still only put him here on weekends.
I most certainly will become hypoxia because I will be so busy I won't have time to breathe. I will leave you with a few recent pics. Will be back to normal blogging after August 9th. Will have lots of time to blog on August 10th.

On the dock at sunrise.

Beach fun with Catherine and Caroline!

First time in buggy!!

Ready for a flood. Or tidal wave.

How I find Stella in the mornings...

Annual kid-free girls weekend this past weekend. Most. Fun. Ever!!!

Fun with hipstamatic...

Peek a boo. I see you...

Sweet, sweet time--rocking a baby. Nothing like it.
