Are we stuck?

Famous porter one liners:

Leaving mission friends last night porter was in the car with my mom and they were waiting on a car in front of them. He says, "Are we stuck?"

Porter is playing with a toy in the floor and Jared says something to him and he says, "Dad, you're making me nervous."

Offering Jared a stuffed animal, he says, "Here, daddy. This one has a tag you can pull." (That's when we found out what he calls playing with the tag on his beloved stuffed dog.)

On the potty: "I'm gonna drop one more deuce and then I'll call you and you can come wipe me."

To Stella: "What a beautiful outfit!"

Along the same lines: "Nannie has a beautiful carport!"

About cracker (former dog): "He bit that and is a mean brat!"

And there's more where that came from....

Porter reads to Stella

(yes, while he potties--it's the only time he is still enough).

Mr Jon's airplane

Jon (of Jon and Emily Williams) invited porter down last week to see the airplane he flies. I think he was excited, but when we were pulling up at the airport he asked if we could go see a real garbage truck after we saw the airplane.

Listen for "roger that commander this is mission control." I think that may have come from backyardigans or possibly buzz lightyear..... (video quality brought to you by the inability to post this from Jared's phone and emailing it to me)

Happy four month birthday!!!

Stella is four months old today!!!
This third month has been filled with more coughing, breathing treatments, and staying with Nannie.  What in the world would we do without Nannie!!! Stella started back to school several weeks ago and made it a whole five days before she was sick and has now been out of school for 2 1/2 weeks.  We had a week of antibiotics, breathing treatments, and CPT.  She was actually going to go back to school today for the first time, but just wasn't up to it this morning.  She has had a pretty good day today and celebrated her 4 month birthday with prunes in her oatmeal tonight.  She has been eating rice cereal in the morning and oatmeal at night.  Last week she preferred a liquid diet, so we stopped the breathing treatments to see if that helped her appetite, and she is eating much better now.  So far she has had green beans and carrots, and screams as soon as you put a bite of either in her mouth.  She seems to like the fruits she has tried--bananas and prunes.  Oh well, if there's one thing I've learned during my short time as a parent, it's that not eating something or not eating at all is nothing to get worked up over.  But sometimes it is still hard to be at peace with that.
Stella is mostly happy--when she feels good.  She loves her Daddy and seems to talk to him and smile at him the most.  Go figure!!  I do all the work and he gets all the glory.  Maybe she is just tired of looking at me all the time, and is really saying, "Who is this guy?"
One major milestone that I am happy about--she sucks her thumb!!! Woo too!  No worrying about keeping up with, cleaning, or finding pacifiers, and no going in and out of her room at night to put it back in her mouth.  I did that for a few nights right after we came home from the hospital, and that is one thing I am not going to get up for a million times a night.  I come from a family of thumb suckers, and so far it hasn't irreparably damaged any of us, so I say have at it!!!  Now if we could just get rid of this cough we might get some sleep at night.

Easter pictures

These are the only pictures I managed to take with my "real" camera on Easter.

Like a lion--toddler style

We like the David crowder band version at our house. You can find it on iTunes if you're not familiar. Porter recognized it on the radio yesterday as "a song the band plays at church."

Sound effects of popping glow in the dark bubbles

I don't think I've ever had a more interesting blog title by just describing the contents of the post.
First of all, I have to review the product--glow in the dark bubbles. Sounds very cool, and the prepping of the bubbles is pretty cool, but the bubbles themselves don't really glow. The container of bubbles glows a lot, and any of the liquid that gets on your clothes, face, hands, etc. glows does too, but the little, round, floating bubbles--not so much.
Porter enjoyed them this evening, and that's good enough for me. He has very interesting sound effects and got a little exercise too. The short video below is more for your listening pleasure than viewing. It was dark outside (duh), and you only see small flashes of the airplane footie pj-ed little boy that is wildly chasing non-glowing bubbles.
