Qestionnaire

Since Porter went to bed early and I can catch up on blogging, here is a questionnaire that I found on the Jewell's blog...

1. What kind of Soap is in your bathtub right now? Wal-Mart knock off of some sort of Dove body wash.

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator? No.

3. What would you change about your living room? I would get rid of the coffee table--it's big, and we already don't have enough room for all the baby stuff.

4. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty? Probably dirty, but I'm not sure.

5. What is in your fridge? Every kind of sauce, condiment, or marinade you could think of, baby food and formula, leftover rotel dip, and some fruit cups.

6. White or wheat bread? Wheat.

7. What is on top of your refrigerator? Two wine glasses, part of the clock that jared was going to fix some months ago, and a fly swatter.

8. What color or design is on your shower curtain? Don't have one--glass door.

9. How many plants are in your home? 3 alive, one dead.

10. Is your bed made right now? No. Barely sleep-able.

11. Comet or Soft Scrub? Comet.

12. Is your closet organized? My side is, except for my shoes. Jared's side is not recognizable as a closet.

13. Can you describe your flashlight? It's one of those little black LED ones. We keep it in the candy dish in the kitchen--handy, huh?

14. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home? Plastic.

15. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now? No. Haven't made sweet tea at my house ever, that I can remember.

16. If you have a garage, is it cluttered? Same as the closet. You could park in my side. Jared's side is a small mountain of s*#@.

17. Curtains or blinds? Blinds. No curtains.

18. How many pillows do you sleep with? 1

19. Do you sleep with any lights on at night? No. I can't even stand the light from the alarm clock.

20. How often do you vacuum? I don't. The cleaning lady does. And I don't know how often. It would never be vacuumed if we had to do it. Me--not enough time. Jared--just won't.

21. Standard toothbrush or electric? Standard

22. What color is your toothbrush? Purple.

23. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch? Yes.

24. What is in your oven right now? A pizza stone.

26. Chore you hate doing the most? Going to work. It's work! I would trade housework for my work. At least I would feel like I was accomplishing something.

27. What retro items are in your home? We have an old opium pipe that one of Jared's friends brought us back from Thailand. Does that count? It's not really as much retro as antique.

45. In case of fire, what are the items in your house which you'd grab if you only could make one quick trip? After all people and dogs--pictures, engagement ring and matching necklace, phone....

Recent Pics

Here are some pics from this weekend....
Caroline is always alerting us when Porter is drooling, except she calls it "dripping." She points and says, "He's dripping." There's a face that goes with it too. Anyway, notice that "he's dripping" on his fat little belly.

Action shot....
Me and my punkin-head...
Sitting in his "recliner" watching Wall-E. He loved it. He was glued to it for about 30 minutes. I walked by completely unnoticed for a long time.

Congratulations Jared!

This weekend was the end of a month long spearfishing tournament and a separate tournament that only lasted this weekend. Jared has been pretty productive--he got 2nd place snapper and 3rd place cobia in the month long tournament, and 2nd place snapper and 3rd place triggerfish in the weekend tournament. Here is the winning snapper from today.

Water Baby Part 2

Porter has decided that he prefers to lay in the water in the bathtub. He spends most of this bath as shown in the video below. He will be all the way under except for his little face sticking out of the water and he just loves it. He laughs, and then gets really serious about kicking and flailing his arms. I guess there's nothing wrong with it, and its definitely easier for getting soap out of his hair and for getting his booty clean.

Worn out/Birthday Weekend

This weekend we went to Andalusia to relax for my birthday (I'm now 30). The rotation I have been on has been very busy. I don't get to see Porter much--sometimes I get home just in time to give him a bath and put him to bed, and sometimes I've been too late for even that. :( The best birthday I could have would be just getting to spend time with him and relax--sleep past 4:30am and not have the nagging list of stuff to do at home. It was a great weekend--just hot. So hot the pool wasn't even refreshing. It had only been 2 weeks since I had been home, and the pool then was still pretty cool for me. Cool enough that I had to "ease in." Porter had a good time swimming again, and I don't know if it was the heat or the swimming that wore him out, but he slept in a hammock chair for about an hour. He was under the roof of the outdoor kitchen with the misters on and a fan blowing on him and it was still ridiculously hot, but he seemed pretty comfortable.

I got a new iPhone for my birthday! I had the 1st generation iPhone, and I have loved it. I'm totally helpless and bored without it. It's the best electronic invention ever. Anyway, it takes video, and we tried it out this weekend. Of course, Porter was the star.

New Vicki Pictures!

Here are the pictures from Porter's 6 month session at Vicki's. This is the first time Porter hasn't had a skin issue that Vicki had to "re-touch." And as busy as Vicki is, she always sends me stuff for my blog. Can't wait to see the storyboard that they are working on for us this time!

Water Baby

When I was home this weekend, Porter went swimming again.   He *LOVES* the water.  He liked sitting in the little baby boats, but he really would rather just be sitting in the shallow part of the pool.  He would float on his back with just his head resting on my leg, and would "swim" on his tummy with just one hand under him.  He put his face in the water a couple of times and didn't really seem to care.  He just looked up blinking his eyes and smiled.

The Early Birds

These two got up at 6:00am Saturday morning.  They watched cartoons on the couch until everybody else woke up.

Little Blue Eyes

Porter is a really good baby, and I don't really have anything to complain about, but he is not a big fan of evenings.  If he is going to fuss, it's going to be from about 5:00pm til bedtime at 7:30.  Sometimes we take a little stroll to pass the time.  Here are a couple of pics from a recent evening stroll.
