My little vegetarian?

Porter has been less interested in meat the last couple of days. Strange. Tonight's supper was a banana on the way home from the grocery store, yogurt while supper was cooking, green beans, ketchup (eaten with a spoon), and oranges. He wouldn't eat the meatloaf, which was his favorite when he was 10-12 months old. Unfortunately his choice of "vegetables" has not expanded--bean greens and taos (mashed potatoes) completes that food group for him. Apparently (and I quote) "corn is nasty."

Don't forget a healthy serving of the backyardigans for his dining pleasure!!!

Headed home from Destin

Porter asked to hold Cracker...

We stayed in Destin this morning until the outlets were open because Porter needed new shoes. The Stride Rite Outlet delivered big time. They had a great selection and they were literally half the price as the regular store. We also had to replace the ole' standard--gray new balance.
Now we are headed back home, but not without stopping by fresh market for steaks!
Oh, and now we are getting used to hewing "meeska, meeska, Mickey Mouse!!," and "supercheers!!" from the backseat as porter watches Mickey mouse clubhouse. One of his favs, and it's so funny to hear him participate.

That's some good sleep

Silence

It's 2:13pm and there is silence. I must document it because I don't know when the last time this happened or when it will happen again. Porter and cracker are both sleeping. We are all piled up on the couch at the beach house watching football and it's raining outside. This is wonderful. All after a morning of shopping with my mom without porter. What a great day so far!
We are having a very boring new year's weekend in Destin, but could not possibly have any more fun than we are having.

Brown bear, brown bear

This classic book has been a regular at bedtime for well over a year now. Porter knows all the animals, but he's stuck on red right now, so it's always red yellow duck, and red green frog, and so forth. But, now when we get to this page

it's not red white dog, it's Cracker, and he is quick to correct you should you accidentally say white dog, white dog. The same thing goes for any slip ups at the end of the book too.
