Other phrases sprinkled through this video:
"good job"
"I like you"
And something about presents.

Pics from this weekend
We were kinda stuck in the house Saturday because porter was sick. We got out Sunday for church and grocery store visits, but were at the house the rest of the time. Somehow I managed to get a few things done around here, but nothing major. Dishes, picking up a little, and cleaning up what porter left behind (which twice was pee in the floor!!!). It was a major grocery trip and unloading of groceries because tomorrow I am starting the transformation challenge hosted by optimum nutrition and bodybuilding.com. I've gotten rid of a lot in the pantry/fridge that would be major distractions--cake icing, ice cream, cookie dough, and pretty much any other simple carbohydrate you could think of. I now have lots of protein, including protein powder for shakes, and very little fat. I also have a workout schedule which doesn't take into account the calories burned chasing porter, so that sets me up to do well if I don't collapse first. Why am I doing something so drastic? I really need to get into better shape and have no excuse for why I haven't done it other than I just haven't been that motivated. A college workout buddy turned me on to the contest, and it is just the right time. I want to look good for bikini season. The last 3 years have been less than adequate. So, I'm gonna do it. Strangely enough, my two biggest naysayers are my mom and Jared. What's that about?!?!

Date to hilltop and visit with scott
Porter and I went to hilltop this evening for their special--a 16 oz ribeye and side for $10.99. Can't beat that. Too bad I didn't get much steak. Porter ate it all.
Them when we got home, we hot a visit from Scott. Also known as Scoot sometimes. Porter wanted to sit by him to eat his popcorn, and then he had to show off his boo bop from school. A brave little boy finally got revenge and bit back.

New dog on duty
I decided to go with new dog tonight. His tag feels different from what old dog's tag ended up feeling like, but porter approved. When he started his bedtime routine of "fiddling" it he just looked at it and said, "new tag," and kept right on going. Old dog is in the top of his closet until he is called up again. I hope it's not like toy story. We watched toy story 3 today, and it was kinda sad. I hope old dog doesn't feel like he's been cast off and replaced. He has to be tired though--everything he's been through. He needs a break anyway.
On another note, porter loves his new books from Christmas. Ferdinand, I love you stinky face, and peek-a-who are favorites, but he will listen to all of them. And he's finally got an attention span long enough to make it a decent ways into some of the Dr Seuss books. It amazes me how much he remembers from all of them and how he identifies the books.
Although we are going through a challenging time behavior-wise, there are still things that I very much enjoy at this age. Especially when he says, "mama, I wanna kiss."

Major surgery
Dog had to have a tag transplant.
Goofy was the donor.
What a trooper. Still grinning after having his tag removed.
Donor and recipient both doing well. (Dog also had a bath as part of his procedure. He's still a little damp in this picture.)
Tag has been correctly placed right where his "exit" would be. He's now got a Disney tag instead of his princess toy tag.
Mama ordered a new dog for christmas just in case. After dog's incident this morning (cracker ate his tag) naptime was fitful at best, and only an hour. Now I am very thankful for a backup and for the transplant. Here is old dog and new dog. Old dog looks ok in this picture, but it's an obvious difference in person. He feels like he has no stuffing and he is not nearly as soft. Old dog is on the left in this picture...
And on the right here...
A happy little boy. What could be better than 2 dogs?!?!?!

All aboard the choo choo train
Originally heard on the Choo Choo Soul segment on the Disney channel (I think). Here is porter's version. I guess he has heard that there are better acoustics in the bathroom.
