Morning at the camp

The hunting camp is in Lamison, AL (Wilcox County), in the middle of nowhere. There's no cell phone coverage of any kind. It's very tranquil. Here's a pic looking at the camphouse from the front of Rob Fleming's camper. I hope that one day I can share these kind of moments with Porter and that he'll grow to love the outdoors as much as I do.

New app feature

I updated the apps on my phone, and when I did this location thing showed up on my blogging app. I don't really know what it is for, so I'm trying it out. Maybe it just tells where I am when i post???

Roll tide!

I had to work, but we made the best if it. I dressed for the occassion and one of my junior residents got the nursing supervisor to let us in the conference center so we got to watch the game on the proection screen. What a game!!!

Old schedule for now. :(

Could change at a later date. Will have to go by old every weekend schedule this weekend. We are going to take it a week at a time.

Un-update

No word on the schedule yet. Guess I have to wait until tomorrow. Everyone is kinda on hold. Particularly one of my fellow chiefs, Drew. He has twin 5 year old girls and a 3 year old little boy, and his wife is a stay at home mom. She really needs a break, so Drew was going to have the weekend off according to the new schedule and he was going to take the kids somewhere out of the house for the weekend so his wife could relax. Needless to say, his wife is not happy. They have no family around here to help out, so it's pretty much just her with 3 little ones all the time. That's a harder job than mine, and she doesn't ever get a weekend off either!!! I really hope we can get this worked out. It would benefit Jared and I a lot, but I know Sarah and Drew really need this too.
Anyway, maybe I'll get some word tomorrow morning at grand rounds.

Urgent request!!!

Our new surgery chairman is meeting with our program director at 1:00pm to discuss our new schedule proposal. Please stop right now and say a prayer that it gets approved. Our residents really deserve this!!! Since I am the administrative chief, I will get word late his afternoon or early tomorrow morning. If this doesn't get approved, we will continue to work every weekend, and I will have to make a completely new schedule very quickly. I will update as soon a I get word.
