BIG news

Porter tee teed in his potty tonight before and after his bath. I just put him on it while I was waitin for the tub to fill up and he tee teed with after a little sprinkle of water on his weenie. Then he did it again right after he got out of the tub with no prompting. I know it doesn't really mean anything but that I caught him at the right time, but it's a start. And he was so proud of himself. He was grinning so big.

House painting

I am just realizing that part of my big weekend post didn't actually post, so I'm going back and reposting all of those pictures separately.
Here are some pictures of our painting results so far. It's not much to see, and really not interesting unless you saw it before, and even then, it's no big deal, but I'm posting them anyway. ;)
Entry from carport.

You can appreciate the color better in this one. It is a darker shade of the color in the entry.

Hall bathroom.

So far we have done the entry, den, and kitchen (den and kitchen are really all one room). We are doing all of the trim too, and we have made it through the area we have painted, and we've done the trim, chair rail and crown molding in the dining room.

Honor flight arrival

We were able to see the Covington county region veterans return home after their day in Washington DC Saturday night. What an amazing oppotunity for those men--I know some of them would have never been able to do anything like that on their own. An emotional event that you should try to attend if you have the chance. Porter really enjoyed the firetruck and airplane. (he went in his pjs since it was at his bedtime when the flight was going to arrive.)

We got to sit in the cockpit of the plane after all the people got off. Porter was a little overwhelmed.

Working weekend

We came up to Andalusia for the weeken to take care of some business, paint and do other stuff around the new house, and have a little fun.
Here's porter at the bank on Friday.

18 months

Porter went to the Dr for his 18 month checkup yesterday afternoon. No shots or anything exciting, just the regular height and weight and physical exam. Our last height measurement was obviously very wrong (31") because he was 31" yesterday, and I know he has gotten taller in the last 3 months because he has outgrown some clothes. And he was 22.2 lbs. Both are just shy of the 10th percentile. He gets his height from his mama and his weight from his daddy. At least it's not the other way around....

Real talking

While porter is "talking" all the time, in an unknown language, he has started saying new words IN ENGLISH literally every day.
Sunday he said train, water, and neigh, which is apparently what a cow says. Tonight he said sock, cracker, and something close to blanket. It is so crazy how fast he is picking up new words--more than one a day.
I have been trying to get videos of them, but of course he will say something a ton of times, and then quit as soon as I start to video. Anyway, here is one of "sock" and attempts to put one on (mine).

Got a sucker at the bank

Now we have a very sticky situation.
FYI, suckers are still good even if you drop them on the driveway a couple of times.

We have an appointment with the hose before we go inside.
