Porter's First Birthday Party

The party was great. Porter did pretty good even though he didn't feel 100%. We had lots of good food, fun visiting with family and friends, and too many toys!!! I think we are going to have to get a toy chest for Christmas. Here are the pictures. I think I'm going to have to do a separate cake post because there are so many pictures of just that.
The birthday boy.

My Nannie getting warm in the sun. It was kinda chilly, but warmed up and was comfortable.

Morgan, Porter, and Jennings.

What's with the pacifier??? Neat new toy I guess....

Morgan having fun...

Porter riding and Jennings pushing. This was pretty funny.

This is when Porter declared the party to be officially over. We tried to get a picture with my dad (Granddaddy), but this is about the best we could do.

Birthday weekend

Well, I had pictures to post from Porter's actual birthday, but he was not happy that day or Friday, so none of the pictures were very post-able. He has had fever and the crankies since Wednesday afternoon. We are quite ready for him to feel better. Jared took him to the doctor Friday morning and found out he's got fluid behind his left ear. Not as big a diagnosis as you would expect with all the fussing, so we think some if it is related to the two teeth that are almost in. You can actually see them and feel them, but they're just not through the gums yet.
He was feeling a little better Saturday for the party. I have lots of pictures that are post-able, but I'm at work right now, so it will have to wait until I get home this evening. I will say that Porter does like cake (or at least the icing).

Birthday eve

We're playing tonight in Porter's room. He can't seem to keep his tongue in his mouth.

Job interviews...

I've got a couple of face-to-face interviews with medical device companies next week. Both are better than my previous position but, I would to have one of them in particular. Thanks for everyone's prayers. I'll keep you posted.

Hurrican Ida/Hurricane Porter

Porter didn't want Ida to get all the attention today, so he made sure nobody forgot about him. He got a bottle this afternoon so he could get a nap, and was a little hornet all afternoon per the daddy report. I know Jared is looking forward to another day of the daycare being closed. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the daycare is closed whenever the schools are closed, and they were today because of the "hurricane.". Tonight he got to go to bed early. Wihout the bottle he is rather difficult to get to sleep, so we had a CIO (cry it out) night. He held out for a full 30 minutes, and then had little outbursts for another 15 minutes. I know all this sounds awful, but when little ones are cranky, it's nice to have some help, and unfortunately Jared didn't have any, and I didn't get home until almost 6:00. And we didn't "teach" Porter how to get himself to sleep earlier, so we are paying for it now. Hopefully we made some progress tonight with the CIO, and we will all be a little less stressed.

3 days!

I don't know when to consider us bottle-free and put them in the cabinet, but we are now 3 days closer to whenever that is. I'm working a 24 hr shift, and I just got te confirmation that we made it another day, or I should say Jared made it another day--since I haven't been able to see porter today. Maybe tomorrow I'll put up most of the bottles and just keep one out for emergencies--whatever that might be. I would have considered last night an emergency because porter was fairly hard to get to sleep, but he finally made it.
Ok, another trauma alert is here!!!
