Sam's Trip--First time in a buggy!

I'm already feeling sorry for my second child.  I stopped to take pictures of Porter in Sam's this afternoon.  It was his first time in a shopping cart/buggy.  An important occassion....  For a first child.  I may not remember my second child's first few months if I'm chasing this one around, trying to be a surgeon, and keeping up with the absolutely never-ending pile of housework.  Why am I even thinking about a second child?  What's wrong with me?  Oh yeah, we'll be in Andalusia--Nana's house here we come!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We went over to the Mason's and had a crawfish boil/going away party for Leigh and Beau--our friends moving to Shreveport, LA.  This was the first time we had gotten together with most of our friends who have babies.  Anna Todd, Morgan, Jennings, Karis, Mac, Jackson, Kendall, and Porter were all in attendance.  I didn't get pictures of everybody, because Porter was very tired that day and we spent most of our time walking around and just trying to keep from being whiny.  We had a good time anyway, and here are some pics.

I made a slideshow!

I've been trying to get a slideshow on here for a while, but since my blogging time is limited to about 2-3 minute sessions, it has been impossible lately.  Anyway, here it is (at the bottom of the page).  It's some of my favorite pics from Porter's 1st 6 months.

Mobile Bay Beach

Jared took Porter down to his sister's bay house this weekend while I worked.  Porter enjoyed kicking back with some sand between his toes.  Here is Porter with Paw Paw Harden---he's not really that small---Paw Paw Harden is just extra tall.

Biter Biscuits

I gave Porter a biter biscuit this afternoon while I was doing stuff in the kitchen. I knew what to expect, because I have given Caroline one before. She was just old enough to sit up, and I was babysitting--I had no idea what I was doing then, but those things kept her occupied. Worked for Porter too.

6 months old!

Porter is now six months old.  We celebrated with his 2nd ear infection and a cold.  The same thing happened right before his 4 month check-up, and we had to turn that appointment into a sick visit too.  He's better now though.  We rescheduled his 6 month check up for this week.

He's experimenting with sitting up, and getting better by the day.  He still likes his feet a lot, so he spends a lot of time bent in half pulling at his socks.  He loves to sit up in the bathtub though, and you can't keep him "reclined" in the baby tub.  He's reaching for things now too, so he tries to grab at his little floating toys in the tub.

Blogging Friends

I recently became aware that everybody in Andalusia has a blog.  If you don't, you are obviously un-cool....  I have been enjoying "stalking"/"spying" on everyone.  It's funny how all these people I haven't seen in years are pretty much doing the same things I am doing--showing off how much fun we're having with our babies.  I have put links to some of them under Blogging Friends.  I'll be adding more later.

I am usually a Vicki Popwell blog stalker, but this morning my mom beat me to it.  She called to tell me that I was famous yet again--2 of the pictures from our session on Saturday were on her blog.  Here they are....  Can't wait to see the rest!

Mother's Day Weekend

This was my first Mother's Day!  It was fun....  Porter and I went to Andalusia.  Jared stayed in Mobile to hang out with Beau and Leigh.  Porter had his 6 month pictures made at Vicki's.  Of course, I've been dying to see them since the moment we left.  Then we went up to Nannie's to work on a few onesies for him.   He has outgrown all of the ones we made before he was born.  Then we came home and went swimming.  Last time we turned on the heat in the hot tub, but this time it was a little too warm outside for that, so we had to ease ourselves in.  Porter wasn't sure what to think of cold water when we first got in, but he still seemed to enjoy it after he got used to it.  He would always take a big deep breath in when I would lower him into the water a little bit more.  Sunday after church the fam came over for food and swimming.  Porter and I had to come back home, so he didn't get to swim.  He was too tired anyway.  When I got back, Jared was boiling crawfish in the front yard, so we had another big meal.  I love big weekends, but I'm always a little too ambitious and am more tired than I was before the weekend started.  But it sure was fun....

You'll be seeing this outfit again.  He wore it for some of his 6 month pictures.  It's so sweet.  And it makes those baby blues even brighter.

Catherine and Caroline love Porter.  Catherine always wants to hold him, and they are great entertainment.  He watches them and they make him laugh.  My favorite quote of the weekend was from Caroline.....  

She was playing with Porter, and I came by and smelled a poopy diaper.  I get him up and take him to change his diaper.  Caroline is running being me screaming, "I want to see his butt."
