We had such a great time at this event last year that we wanted to do it again, but it didn't start out so great. Porter refused to put on his costume. We would try to put it on him, and he would take it off. Nothing worked. We bribed, we threatened, we gave pep talks. So off to dinner we went in his clothes that he had worn during the day. We told him he couldn't have candy or trick or treat if he didn't wear his costume. We pointed out other little kids in their costumes, and we even let him see another child trick or treating in our resort while we waited for dinner (they were handing out candy all over the resort). We told him he could put it on over his clothes, that he only had to wear it for a little while--while he trick or treated--but nothing. We packed it in our stroller and off we went anyway. When we got to the MK I went to the restroom and tried one last time to get him to go with me and put on his costume and he refused. When I got out and we were about to head out into the park for who knows what because we had told him he couldn't get candy without his costume, it's like the clouds parted and rays of sunlight streamed down and this little STUBBORN child was ready to put on his costume. And he even put on his pirate hat complete with dreadlocks and beads to complete the Jack Sparrow look.
Hard to get good pictures of night scenes without a tripod. Oh well, I still like the pictures.
Here he is! Mr Jack Sparrow. Ready to trick or treat. Finally.
The hat didn't last long, but no big deal. He was in his costume.
He would even say "Trick or treat" and then turn around and tell me, "hey mama, I told her trick or treat!" He was so proud and did so good. And of course, he loved the end result too!!!
I can just hear him saying, "Trick or treat!" He was so sweet... The last 1 1/2 hours of costume trouble had been forgotten....
He wanted to ride the "horses."
And the "ghost house!!!" Yes, he really asked to go back to the Haunted Mansion. Got a great spooky pic of the haunted mansion too.
More spooky lighting on the castle...
Couple of fireworks pics.
And last of all, the Boo to You parade. We stayed for the late parade this year, which was at 10:30 eastern time. We were tired, but it was worth it. Porter loved it!!! Here are some of the highlights. Not all the pictures of the floats turned out.
After the parade we made our way down main street for the last time this year. We were all exhausted when we got back to the room and slept in this morning. What a fun halloween night for us! We are on the road headed home. And right now we are having to endure listening to a buzz lightyear gun shoot at the evil emperor zurg. A lot. Wow.
