Porter's first black eye

Porter got off his cot during nap time today and tried to climb on the table. All he managed to do was get a black eye.







(picture below) This is where he is almost every day when I get to daycare to pick him up....






Also, I went by southeastern salvage today in mobile to browse for ideas and good deals for the new house. I found this cute pirate rug for $9.00 and I couldn't pass it up. (porter's room is pirate themed.) It's 39" x 56". I thought it was so cute.

Back on days

Believe me, I am ecstatic about rejoining the rest if the world, just having a little trouble with when to sleep and when to be awake. Since I'm not a caffeine drinker anymore, I'm sure I'll pay for this, but I had to do something about my whole body trying to drag the floor. ;)

Spanish Fort Barber Shop

Barber shops are obviously places of torture and traumatic events. This is the first time Porter's had a haircut by a barber, and he may have to grow his hair out again before we attempt it again. He is a little angel at the doctor's office and would let them do anything to him, so I really didn't expect this to be a big deal.

Big boy haircut

You would never know the terror Porter was just in by these pictures. We just took him to the barbershop for his first big boy haircut and he did not like it. Here are pictures from the ride home, when he was finally able to enjoy his lollipop.

Oh yeah, he fell yesterday and scratched up his face and got a knot on his forehead. That isn't from the haircut. ;)

Louisiana oil rig explosion

We got several of the patients from the explosion last night on an oil rig off of Louisiana. I was laying in my call room trying to sleep when I heard this horrendous noise that sounded like a huge airplane. I thought it couldn't possibly be a helicopter landing here so I just rolled over and tried to get to sleep. Then we got the page. It was a helicopter--a massive one.

Porter is always playing in or on or around a car at daycare when I pick him up. And as soon as he sees me he squeals and runs as fast as he can to the gate.
