Porter headlines

Continuation of "Not speechless:"
"thang"---mama, I want to ride my tracta thang. Mama, here is my sucka thang....
And along the same lines...
"stuff"--mama, tha's daddy's stuff, or what is that stuff?
[Do you see the trend of everything starting with mama?]
"Stop guys."---this one showed up on a recent trip to destin. As we were walking through destin commons, Jared and I were playing around with porter, and he throws out, "stop guys."
"Don't pow me, daddy!"---porter likes to "pow" you by pointing at you and say pow as if he is shooting you. He doesn't like it when you return the favor and you will usually get a "don't pow me, daddy (or mama)" back.

Topic #2: "scared of the dragons in my room"
That's what he said this morning when he got in our bed for our morning snuggle time. He has recently become scared of things that have not been an issue in the past, and we have done nothing to create these fears. He is scared of the dark, and he used to go in a dark room by himself and sit there and hide from you. He is also talking about things like the boogeyman, monsters, and dragons, and he is scared of them. How did he learn all this? I'm sure some of it comes from school, but he is the most verbal child in his class, so I'm sure that the other kids didn't teach him all this. These are not words or concepts from our household, so where did he pick it up?
Tonight we went to samurai for Japanese, and as soon as he saw the man with the tall hat and cart full of food he freaked completely out and wouldnt sit in his high chair and layed on Jared hiding his face. He said, "I scared of fire" and as soon as we told him that the man wouldn't do fire and that there was nothing to be afraid of, he turned around and announced to the rest of the table that he was not scared of fire, but quickly hid his face again and wouldn't sit in his chair. We finally had to put our foot down (or all four parent feet) and made him get in his chair. After a short meltdown he complied and was fine after that. When the guy finished cooking our meal, he reloaded and went to another table, where he did the fire. Then porter said, " I wanna see fire again." We like to say he's indecisive. ;)

Topic #3: good day at school
No biting or pinching = afternoon treat. Since he likes blue ice cream and we don't have that here, Jared took him to the recently re-opened Sno Biz. He got a blue snow cone.
